What is an herbarium course?
It is guided learning in observation, pressing, documentation, and presentation of plant specimens or legally sourced botanical material.
Do I need previous experience?
No. The catalog identifies levels clearly, and introductory courses explain tools and vocabulary before more involved projects.
Are materials included?
Each course listing identifies recommended materials. Digital lessons are included; physical paper, presses, and specimens are normally supplied by the learner.
How should I gather plants?
Gather only where permitted, avoid protected or threatened plants, take modest samples, and consider fallen material or reputable botanical suppliers first.
Are the courses live or self-paced?
The catalog states the format for each course. Some are self-paced study paths, while others include scheduled studio discussions or critiques.
Can the lessons be adapted for access needs?
We can discuss alternatives for reading, pacing, and workspace setup. Contact the studio before purchase so we can describe the available support accurately.
How do I save a course for later?
Choose Add to Fallows on any catalog card. The selected course ID is stored in your browser and appears on the Fallows page.
How are pressed specimens stored?
Keep fully dry specimens flat, protected from strong light and humidity, and labelled with enough context to understand where and when they were recorded.
Can I ask about a course before enrolling?
Yes. Send the studio your question and mention the course title, your goals, and any material or access considerations.
